School Visit

Welcome! City of Oulu is a prominent provider of high-quality education in Northern Finland. We have 46 comprehensive schools and 10 upper secondary schools in Oulu.

During the school visit you will hear introduction about the school, walk a tour in the school and observe school’s daily life and teaching. You may also have a session or workshop on a specific topic upon request in advance. The program and the content depends on the duration and the theme of the visit.

Duration:
– possible from 1 hour to 6 hours, most popular is 3 hours (including school lunch)

Theme:
– Default theme: Finnish School and Finnish Education
– Or upon request, for example, STEAM, Nature and Sustainability Education, Entrepreneurship Education and Work-life Skills, Emotional and Safety Skills, Global Citizenship Education

Visits are possible during the school year:
– between September and mid-December, and
– between mid-January and mid-May,
– except during school holidays (week 10 & 43, period around Christmas and Easter) and public holidays.

Booking:
– Visits are possible with a prebooking only. Kindly send an e-mail (eduoulu (at) ouka.fi) with the date and time request, group size, school level you’re interested in (primary/secondary/upper secondary), and possible theme request. Also, let us know, if your visit is focused on the architecture and/or history.
– Pricing is per group. Fixed price for groups of 1-20 participants, based on the duration of the visit.
– Bigger groups are possible with an additional fee. If needed, we can divide the group into two schools.

Available with a separate fee and prebooking:
– School lunch, and/or
– coffee/tea, and/or
– snacks.
– Pricing is per person.

School visits are conducted in English (or Finnish). The group may have an interpreter with.
