1. Nallikari – Oulu’s Own Riviera

The gently sloping shoreline and spacious beach area offer plenty of room to relax, while the approximately one-kilometre-long stretch provides space for everyone. The beach is also accessible: a mat-like pathway leads to the shore, and beach wheelchairs are available from lifeguards to help visitors enter the water safely.
Facilities include daily lifeguard supervision from 11:00 to 19:00 (approximately 15 June to 15 August), changing rooms, public toilets and showers (open 9:00–21:00), barbecue areas (bring your own firewood or purchase it nearby), outdoor fitness equipment, beach volleyball courts and a playground. The area is easy to access, and the nearby Hietasaari nature trail offers a peaceful escape into nature.
Nallikari is easy to reach by car, bike, on foot or by bus number 15. Public transport schedules are available on the Oulu Regional Transport website. Cycling and walking routes to the beach are excellent – for example, you can reach Nallikari from Rotuaari via the market square and Pikisaari along a scenic main route. There are also smooth connections from the Toppila area.
