June event highlights in Oulu

Oulu Sauna Festival – 5–9 June

The Oulu Sauna Festival takes place on 5–9 June 2026 at Tuiran Beach as part of the Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture programme. This five-day event celebrates Finnish sauna culture by combining beach saunas, dips in the Oulujoki River, art, music and immersive sauna performances into a unique experience. The programme offers something for both sauna enthusiasts and first-timers in a relaxed and communal atmosphere.

Rajakylä OstariFestari – 6 June

Rajakylä OstariFestari will be held for the first time on 6 June 2026, bringing a carnival atmosphere to the Rajakylä shopping centre. The festival combines live music, urban culture and laid-back togetherness in a unique suburban festival setting. Viva La Kesäkatu – Free Summer Concerts from 4 June to 23 July

Valkea Shopping Centre’s Kesäkatu — the street-level floor area of the mall — fills with music and summer atmosphere every Thursday from June 4 to July 23, 2026, from 4 PM to 6 PM. The free programme features live music, singalongs, karaoke and dancing.

Oulu2026 Mallastage 4 June – 14 August

Mallassauna restaurant by Hailuoto Brewery combines local flavours, craft beers, live music and a relaxed sauna atmosphere in idyllic Pikisaari, Oulu. In summer 2026, the venue hosts the OULU2026 Mallasstage outdoor concert series, featuring free Thursday evening performances ranging from indie folk and punk to jazz and folk music.

Folk Music Festival – 5–6 June

The Kempele Folk Music Festival takes place on 5–6 June 2026 at the Kempele Local Heritage Museum. This free family-friendly event celebrates folk music, local culture and traditions in a charming museum setting. Visitors can enjoy live music, a communal festival atmosphere and diverse side programmes as part of the Oulu2026 programme.

Koivuranta Wine Festival – 13 June

Koivuranta Wine Festival brings a touch of Spanish sunshine, wine culture and summer evening atmosphere to the banks of the Oulujoki River. The event features Spanish flavours, quality wines and live music in a scenic riverside setting. Performers include Jarmo Kantola, Puolikuu and Salsa Coruno Del Norte with Cuban salsa rhythms. Popular wine tastings and diverse food offerings complete the experience.

Pikifestival – 4 July

Pikifestival brings art, music and community-driven urban culture to Pikisaari, Oulu in summer 2026. Known for its vibrant art community, the area invites visitors to explore exhibitions, open studios, local delicacies and creative market stalls in a relaxed summer atmosphere.

Suomipop Oulu – 9–11 July

Qstock – 24–25 July

Qstock is Northern Finland’s largest music festival, taking over Linnansaari, Raatinsaari and Kuusisaari in Oulu on 24–25 July 2026. For two days, the festival area fills with live music, summer vibes and unforgettable festival atmosphere as around 70 Finnish and international artists perform near the city centre.

Rokki Raikaa – 3–4 July

Held at the Ouluhalli parking area, Rokki Raikaa brings top names in Finnish and international rock music to Oulu. The K-18 festival lineup includes Apocalyptica, Amorphis, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Michael Monroe and Klamydia. First organised in 2025, the festival attracted over 15,000 visitors and quickly became one of Oulu’s major summer rock festivals.

Mallasfest – 17–18 August

Mallasfest, Oulu’s own craft beer festival, takes over the charming island of Pikisaari once again on Friday and Saturday. The festival brings together breweries, street food, live music and a relaxed summer atmosphere just a short walk from Oulu city centre.

Oulu Festival Weeks 30 July – 30 August

Oulu Festival Weeks fills the city with culture, music and events throughout August 2026. The programme includes Elojazz, Night of the Arts, the Air Guitar World Championships and the Oulu Music Video Festival. The celebrations culminate in the international Delta Life weekend at the Oulujoki estuary as part of Oulu2026.

Oulu Pride Week – 3–9 August

Oulu Pride celebrates equality, diversity and community spirit in August 2026. Throughout the week, various events across the city create safer spaces to connect and celebrate together. The week culminates in the Oulu Pride parade and park celebration in Kuusisaari on 8 August 2026 as part of Oulu2026.

Summer Night's Dinner – 15 August

Arctic Food Lab’s Summer Night's Dinner brings locals and visitors together around one long communal table in central Oulu in August 2026. Stretching nearly one kilometre, the setting fills with food, culture and relaxed togetherness as participants enjoy their own treats alongside offerings from local food operators. The event celebrates northern flavours and summer evening atmosphere as part of Oulu2026.

Höyhtyän OstariFestari VII – 28–30 August

Höyhtyä OstariFestari brings together live music, community spirit and a uniquely local neighbourhood festival atmosphere in Oulu. The event is known for its colourful programme, DJ stage and quirky performances such as Kara-Åke and the Kikkeli Jazz Club. Delta Life festival weekend – 27 August

Delta Life is one of the main highlights of the Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture year — a spectacular free outdoor event combining live music, dance, circus performances and the Air Guitar World Championships on a unique floating stage in the Oulu River delta. The carnival-style event transforms the end of August into a celebration of art, community and international culture in the heart of Oulu.

Vauhti Kiihtyy! Festival – 21–22 August

Vauhti Kiihtyy! Festival on 21–22 August brings top Finnish pop, rock and schlager artists to Oulu. Held at the Ouluhalli parking area, the two-day festival features performers such as KUUMAA, Juha Tapio, Erika Vikman, Arttu Wiskari, Stratovarius and Sonata Arctica. The event is known for its relaxed atmosphere, diverse programme and wide selection of food and drinks.

Raahe – Raahe Jazz on the Beach 23–26 July

Raahe Jazz on the Beach brings Finnish and international jazz and rhythm music stars to atmospheric venues around the seaside town of Raahe. The programme includes performances by Aki Rissanen Trio, Kimmo Pohjonen, Linda Fredriksson and visiting artists from France and Estonia. Concert venues include the historic Ruiskuhuone, Lang’s Trading House and the summer stage of Raahe Theatre. In addition to music, the festival offers relaxed summer vibes, DJ sets and jam sessions.

Hailuoto – Bättre Folk 10–11 July

Set in the unique archipelago scenery of Hailuoto, Bättre Folk is known as a charming and distinctive indie-style festival combining high-quality music, seaside surroundings and relaxed communal atmosphere. Utajärvi – UntoRock 12 June
