Find Your Way in the Finnish Forest – Basics of Orienteering by Naturest
Do you sometimes feel that the directions disappear once you step into the forest? Does heading into nature without a guide feel a little intimidating? Then this introductory orienteering experience is designed just for you.
This inspiring and practical session gives you the confidence and skills to navigate in nature. We gather at the charming Loppula Nature Café in the beautiful Sanginjoki Nature Reserve, where an experienced competitive orienteer introduces the secrets of navigation in a relaxed and encouraging way.
The session combines clear guidance with hands-on practice. After a short introduction, we head into the nearby forest to learn how to use a map and compass in real terrain. You will also be introduced to a mobile map application, which participants can download to their own phone and continue using in their future outdoor adventures.
By the end of the experience, you will feel more confident exploring nature independently and navigating safely in the forest.
This course is ideal for anyone who wants to gain confidence using map and compass, learn basic navigation skills in a supportive environment, feel more comfortable moving independently in nature and enjoy a relaxed learning experience in a beautiful Finnish forest
